The local branch board consists of seven representatives, including the Main Union representative and president.

What does the local branch board at NTNU do?

The local branch board at NTNU plays a central role in Forskerforbundets work at the university. The board has several important tasks, including:

  • Representation in the Forskerforbundet
    The board elects representatives to the Forskerforbundets general assembly, National Council, and any other representations.

  • Representation in employee representative schemes at NTNU
    The local branch board is responsible for Forskerforbundets representation with employee representatives at the faculty and department level at NTNU. The board appoints representatives to positions, committees, and councils at the university.

  • Convene local branch meetings and annual meeting
    The board regularly organizes meetings for the local branch, including the annual meeting.

  • Prepare proposals for accounts, budget, annual report, and work program
    The local branch board ensures that the finances and plans for the year are well-prepared and presents this to the members.


 

Election of representatives

The local branch board consists of seven representatives, including the main union representative and the president. In addition, three deputy representatives are elected. The board members are elected by and among the members at the annual meeting, normally for two years at a time. Each year, half of the board is up for election, and three alternate representatives are elected for one year at a time. The main union representative and president are elected by separate elections.
