Student membership
1,000 students are members of Forskerforbundet, and benefit from free student insurance and an exciting range of courses. We also have our own student association, Forskerforbundet student.
Join the team – we are stronger together
Forskerforbundet is the union for you if you are aiming to work within research, higher education and/or knowledge transfer both in the public and private sector. As a student member, you don't pay regular membership fees, but you're still on par with the rest of us. We have a total of 25 000 members, of which 1 000 are students.
| Student members pay a fee of NOK 250 as a lump sum. This fee is valid as long as you are a student. |
| Included in the fee is a free insurance package with three policies plus access to a free online doctor service. |
Who are we?
Forskerforbundet organizes knowledge workers, and our members are a diverse group. We organize employees who work as archaeologists, dieticians, meteorologists, archivists, librarians, professors, research fellows, technical-administrative staff – and many others.
In other words, you don't have to be a researcher in order to join Forskerforbundet – even if our name suggests so.

Free insurance for students
Student members get a free insurance coverage consisting of theft insurance, accident insurance and Identity theft insuranse. In addition, you can buy other insurance coverages at favorable premium. Contact our insurance office for more information.
Banking services
Through our agreement with Nordea, students can apply for home mortgage with a favourable interest rate.
Discounts through Unio
Forskerforbundet is a part of the confederation Unio, which gives all members access to Unio's discount deals. Among the discounted products offered is car hire from Avis and sportswear from Stormberg.
