New agreement secures PhD candidate rights

Forskerforbundet and Tekna have entered into an agreement with Abelia that ensures research institutes under Abelia the opportunity to temporarily employ PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows, where the PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows receive equivalent rights as in the university and university college sector.

This means that temporary employees under this agreement are entitled to follow-up, career guidance, and working conditions that enable them to complete a PhD period leading to a doctorate, and a postdoctoral period leading to qualifications for an associate professor/senior researcher position. The agreement ensures extension in case of illness and leave of absence as per law and collective agreements.
