SAIH

Forskerforbundet is a member of the Students and Academics’ International Aid fund in Norway - SAIH.

SAIH was established in 1961 by Norwegian students and academics.

We work to ensure that everyone has access to good education and academic freedom, so that they can contribute to more fair and inclusive societies.

SAIH is a solidarity and fundraising organization working for education,  communication  and political influence.

SAIH motto is “Education for Liberation”. The goal is civil, political, economic, social and cultural liberation. The means is education.

SAIH members and organizations are:

  • Student governments within University and higher education institutions
  • International Trade organizations for Students
  • Board members of universities and higher education institutions
  • International workers` trade unions for academics

SAIH’S work is funded by Student tenner’s (donations) which are added to their semester fees.  Currently more than 200,000 students are contributing to this fund. This money funds higher education and training in Bolivia, Colombia, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South-Africa and Swaziland. In addition, the funds help with advocacy work for political influence in Norway.
