Care Benefit Days The government has clarified that parents who need to be home to look after their own children are entitled to care benefits. The doubling of the number of days is continued through 2021. Initially, you are entitled to 10 care benefit days per calendar year, if you have children under the age of 12. The number is double for sole providers. As of March 13, 2020, the number of care benefit days was doubled, both for parents who have an ordinary quota of 10 days and for parents who have an extended quota. This is a temporary arrangement, which has been continued for 2021. Many find good solutions locally with their employer, using flexible working arrangements and home office.
