Membership

To qualify for membership in NAR, applicants must work in research and/or higher education, and hold scientific, administrative or other professional positions that require higher education. Students also qualify for membership. Members who retire may retain their membership.

Reciprocal Membership Agreements

NAR has made reciprocal membership agreements with the following sister organisations:

Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)	agreement	website

Irish Federation of University Teachers (IFUT)	agreement	website
Swedish Association of University Teachers (SULF)	agreement	website
Danish Association of Masters and PhDs (DM)	agreement	website
Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers	agreement	website

The agreements ensure that members of NAR who work in the above-mentioned countries will be accorded free guest memberships that will entitle them to be consulted about work contracts, wages question and other services provided to ordinary members in the respective countries.

Members of NAR's sister organisations will in turn be entitled to the same rights from NAR when working in Norway.
